DR. GO
Meet Your Valencia Dentist
“I love when people smile. I think every smile is beautiful even if they have never had dental treatment. But when people are self-conscious about their smile and choose to hide it behind a mask or worse, never smile, then that’s when intervention is needed. No matter how big or small the fix, the best feeling is having people smile when they didn’t before. It is hands down the best feeling ever. Even after over 30 years of practice, the gratification of allowing someone to smile is absolutely intoxicating.”

With over 30 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Christopher Go has helped countless patients achieve their smile goals and live life with confidence. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Dr. Go went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Go earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University. He completed the first year of his general practice residency at VA St. Louis Health Care, and served as the Chief Resident during his second year of residency at Sepulveda VA Medical Center.
Dr. Go chose to be a general practitioner because it provides him with the opportunity to perform many different procedures within the scope of dentistry. To Dr. Go, it is gratifying to be able to see a patient and take care of all their dental needs under one roof. When Dr. Go does need to refer a patient to a specialist, he has a network of incredibly gifted doctors in the Valencia area he works with.
During Dr. Go’s residency years, he largely focused on oral surgery and had a lot of hands-on experience with implant surgery and implant restoration. The first dental practice he owned was located in Marina Del Rey, where cosmetic dentistry was a priority for the many actors, models, musicians and sports celebrities in the area.
Here in Valencia and the Santa Clarita Valley, the focus is more on family dentistry and preventative care, and bringing technologically-advanced care such as laser treatment, Invisalign and whitening treatment to patients. Dr. Go also served on the faculty at UCLA School of Dentistry, teaching restorative and cosmetic dentistry from 1991 to 2012. During this time, he conducted research on dental materials with the renowned dental researcher, the late Dr. Angelo Caputo. Throughout all of these experiences, Dr. Go has mastered a blend of implant, cosmetic and preventative dentistry.
In his 30 years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Go has many fond patient memories. He is grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on his patients’ lives, and see firsthand how a new smile can transform their confidence. Dr. Go believes that all smiles are beautiful, and aims to help patients feel their best and overcome anxiety surrounding their smiles. A perfect example of this occurred recently, when a 16-year-old patient came to Go Dental with a condition called Amelogenesis Imperfecta. This is a congenital condition where the teeth have defective enamel which fractures and exposes dark yellow and brown dentin understructure. This condition did not particularly bother the patient when she was younger, but as she got older, it prevented her from smiling and making friends. She was actually happy to wear masks throughout the pandemic because it hid her smile from others. Dr. Go and his dental team performed an enamel replacement on her and transformed her smile. She cried tears of joy when she saw herself for the first time with her new smile. Since then, she has come out of her introverted shell and joined her high school theater group and made so many new friends. It is patient stories like these that make Dr. Go’s unique position so rewarding.
Outside of the office, Dr. Go enjoys a variety of hobbies. An avid runner, he runs 40-60 miles per week, and has participated in over 15 marathons. Additionally, he loves swimming, meditating and reading. Dr. Go enjoys participating in and watching sports. His favorite college team is anything UCLA, including water polo, beach volleyball, tennis, football and basketball. He loves baseball (Go Orioles!), basketball (Go Clippers!) and football (Go Washington Football Team!). As you can see by the teams he cheers for, winning is not really a priority for Dr. Go— it’s all about loyalty. Above all else, Dr. Go loves spending time with his wife and their three children. His wife is Rose Kim, a pediatric dentist at Valencia Smiles Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, and they have been married for over 30 years.
